Osage Orange Sharpshooters

We Host Matches at Several Different Ranges

Currently there are three ranges that our Club holds CMP style Highpower matches in the Springfield MO area.

The Osage Orange Sharpshooters holds some of its matches at the Missouri Conservation Dept’s. Andy Dalton Range Complex, just North of Bois d’Arc, MO.

Additional matches are held at the Aim Rite Range, a private range near Miller. The club schedule will always indicate which range we are shooting at for any given match.

The Springfield Bench Rest Rifle Club also hosts matches at it’s facility just West of Billings MO off of US 60.

Complete directions to these facilities are given below:

Andy Dalton Range

The ANDY DALTON Range complex lies on the MO Conservation Depts. “Bois d’Arc Wildlife Refuge” area. The range complex itself has a very modern range house with classroom facilities, offices, and restrooms. The range itself consists of 20 covered shooting bays with range out to 100 yds. Also, at the complex are an outdoor pavilion, archery facilities, and trap and skeet ranges.

Directions to the Andy Dalton Range

From Springfield, go NW to Willard on US 160. Go through Willard (still on 160), past the golf course on the South side of 160 toward Ash Grove. Approx. 2 miles past the golf course you will pass the “UU” turnoff to Bois d’Arc. Keep going on 160 exactly 1 mile past “UU” to Greene County Farm Rd. 61. Farm Rd 61 turns left (South) just as 160 makes a little jog up a hill and to the right to clear an old farm house on the corner of 160 & FR61. If you are zooming too fast as you come around that jog, you will pass FR61 without ever seeing it. I’d advise slowing down shortly after you pass the “UU” turnoff. Turn left (South) on FR61 and go exactly 2-12 miles. You will go through 2 stop signs at 1 mile intervals. About 1/2 mile past the second stop sign, there will be a tall brown & yellow sign on the East side of the road for “MO Conservation Depts. ANDY DALTON RANGE” and an arrow pointing across the road. On the West side of FR61 is the entrance road to the range and a big steel gate with orange painted cross bars. You are there.

The ANDY DALTON Range is open to individuals who want to shoot as well as groups like the Osage Orange Sharpshooters. For more information about the Range and its facilities and times available, call the Range at (417) 742-4361 between 9:00AM and 4:30PM Daily.

AIM-RITE RANGE

The range is located on Lawrence County road 1155 two miles east of Miller. From Springfield, either take I-44 or Highway 266 west to Highway 96. Go west approximately 8 miles to Lawrence County road 1155. The road is on the east side of the very large petroleum storage facility (tank farm). Turn north on 1155 and go 2.5 miles to the range which is marked by a prominent sign. Follow the driveway and traverse the steep hill to get to the range.

SPRINGFIELD BENCH REST RIFLE CLUB

The Springfield Bench Rest Rifle Club is a private shooting club located just West of Billings MO off of US Hwy 60. General access to the SBRRC facility is limited to members of that Club only. Limited access is also granted to the public and to guests, such as members of the Osage Orange Sharpshooters, who come to participate in scheduled matches and events, like the CMP Highpower events.

Anyone is welcome to come to the CMP Highpower events scheduled at the SBRRC facility. Membership in either club or organization is not necessary.**

Directions to the Springfield Bench Rest Rifle Club

To get to the Springfield Bench Rest Rifle Club’s range facility travel West from Springfield on US Hwy 60. Go West through Republic and Billings MO. A couple miles West of Billings you will pass the MO Hwy 13 turnoff going South to Crane MO. About one mile past the MO Hwy 13 turnoff, you will see a side road turning off Hwy 60 to the North & West. This is Kastendieck Road. Turn Right here, and IMMEDIATELY turn back to the Left. The road will curve to the Right (now heading West) and cross railroad tracks. About 1/2 mile from Hwy 60, the Springfield Bench Rest Rifle Club Range is on the Left (South) side of the road. Can’t miss it.

Note: Kastendieck Road is the FIRST road to the right after the Tyson Poultry truck fanning sheds. There are two locked gates into the Range, which should be opened shortly before scheduled match times. Drive in and park in the appropriate areas.

**NOTE: for information on becoming a member of the SBRC, and gaining full access to all of their facilities, call the Club President, Dave Wicka, at (417)-742-2318 or you can E-MAIL him. There is currently about a 2 year waiting list for membership initiation into the SBRRC.
